Intel and W Hotels created Four Stories to identify and support rising visionaries in filmmaking, and provide them with a platform to share their talent with audiences around the world.

Four winning scripts, inspired by iconic W Hotels destinations and the mobility of the Intel-inspired Ultrabook™, were chosen from nearly 1000 submissions from aspiring filmmakers worldwide. They were selected by a panel of entertainment industry insiders and filmmakers, and developed into short films.

Roman Coppola and his production company, The Directors Bureau, matched the four scripts with some of today's most talented young directors and actors to bring each winner's vision to life.

The resulting four films, plus an original short by Coppola himself, were shot at some of W Hotels' most exotic and cutting-edge locations — from the Maldives and Hollywood to Doha, Washington D.C. and Mexico City — and feature the Ultrabook as a central character.

Four Stories is part of The Ultrabook Experience: a series of collaborations between Intel and innovative companies worldwide, enabled by the Ultrabook — a new category of computing devices powered by Intel.

Naomi Scott's New Movie Needs Your Help

Naomi Scott's new short film, Our Lady of Lourdes, needs your help to get finished.

This is a fantastic chance for you to get involved in the film making process. They are even willing to put you in the movie!

The film is the product of filmmaker Peter Szewczyk. What is the movie about? This is from the press kit:

A vagrant comes to the aid of a University student.
When she tries to return the favour, she gets far more than she bargained for.

 In Peter Szewczyk's words:

We are looking for COMPLETION FUNDS for our ambitious short film. There are so many projects out there that are no more than a twinkle in the filmmaker's eye, but we have done so much already! When it looked like the window was going to close on a fantastic opportunity to work with such established actors and a die-hard crew, on a rock-solid script, I took the plunge and drained my own personal savings account to get the film SHOT. Have a look at the special edition Kickstarter trailer, that shows where we are so far...

But that's only half the battle...Now we have to get the film FINISHED. That means getting through all the post production, where the film gets polished to a level that really captivates an audience. Our goal is so tantalizingly close. If funded, we should hit our goal of having a finished film to share by the end of January.

So please, it would break the hearts of all the people who have already sacrificed so much, if the film doesn't see the light of day soon. All the people involved are really proud of their effort, so we need your help to get a chance to complete the film and show it off.

It's important to us that we carry the same level of quality that went into the shoot, to go into the post production. We need to get the picture edited, and with 4-5 hours of footage, shot over nearly a week, to make a 25 minute film, that is no easy task. Bad sound is unforgivable, so we need to get an ace sound designer, and of course then there is the music, which really comes to the forefront in the final sequences of the film. We already have people in mind for all these roles, but we need to pay them at least a modest rate, as a gesture of our appreciation.

Essex girl rocks in her fizzy Disney debut

originally posted here

UPDATED: 23:17 GMT, 15 September 2011

It's been billed as the new High School Musical but its stars insist they are all real musicians.
Disney’s latest teen block-buster, Lemonade Mouth, follows a gang of five kids who form a band after their school’s arts programme is cut.
Based on the book of the same name by Mark Peter Hughes, Lemonade Mouth has already pulled in more than 13.5 million viewers and ranks as the top original movie on U.S. cable TV this year.
The film has the usual Disney feel-good storyline of teenagers seizing opportunity and expressing their individuality, but the actors say the music is edgier and more spirited than that of High School Musical.
It stars British actress Naomi Scott, 18, who is now working with Steven Spielberg on his sci-fi drama, Terra Nova.
Naomi’s parents run a Pentecostal church in Essex and she was spotted at a choir by Kelle Bryan, of girl band Eternal.
In the show, she plays Mohini Banjaree, a bass guitarist who struggles with her parents’ high expectations of her.
The cast also includes 18-year-old Bridgit Mendler - a regular collaborator with American boyband the Jonas Brothers - as lead singer Olivia White.
Adam Hicks, 18, who plays keyboardist Wen Gifford in the film, is a gifted drummer, while Hayley Kiyoko, who plays lead guitarist Stella Yamada is a drummer and guitarist with The Stunners - the opening act for Justin Bieber’s 2010 world tour.

The stars of Fox drama Terra Nova have reacted to the show's cancellation.

The sci-fi series - executive produced by Steven Spielberg and 24's Jon Cassar - was axed by Fox after a single 13-episode season.

"Bad news guys, Terra Nova has been canceled," star Jason O'Mara (Jim Shannon) confirmed on Twitter. "We're gonna try and get another network to do it. Stand by."

He added: "Thx for the immense outpouring of love & support for [the show], which is currently trending worldwide (sic)."

Co-star Naomi Scott, who played Jim's daughter Maddy, wrote: "Just heard the news about Terra, thanks for all your support guys.

"It was a truly amazing experience, I was so blessed to get the opportunity."

Exec producer Cassar later commented: "Sad day for Terra Nova fans and the cast and crew, in both the US and Australia. It was a wonderful show to work on."

The final episode of Terra Nova aired on December 19, 2011.

Naomi Scott: the teen star with a mission

orignially posted here

Naomi Scott

It is being billed as this year's High School Musical and looks set to make a London teenager a star.

Pressure: Naomi Scott plays a girl trying to meet her parents' expectations as well as her own ambitions

Naomi Scott was the only Briton chosen for Lemonade Mouth, a Disney movie about five teenagers whose school band becomes the voice of their generation.

In two airings on American television, it has already reached more than 13.5 million viewers and ranks as the top original movie on US cable television this year, following Disney's previous blockbuster TV films High School Musical and Camp Rock.

But Naomi, 18, has already moved on - to working with Steven Spielberg.

Next week she flies back to Australia where she has spent most of this year shooting Terra Nova, a science fiction dinosaur drama being produced by Spielberg.

She said she was incredibly excited to be working with Spielberg, who was "heavily involved". She said: "Within a few weeks of coming back from filming Lemonade Mouth I got these scripts and Terra Nova was the one that stuck out. I was, like, 'Oh my gosh'."

British viewers will get their first chance to see Lemonade Mouth on the Disney Channel next month.
Naomi is on a fleeting trip home - her parents, Chris and Usha, run a Pentecostal church in Woodford, Essex - to help promote the film.

"I'm really excited to be showing the other guys [in the cast] around London. We're going to different landmarks like the Gherkin, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. They will eat that all up," she said.
The teenager, who was born in Hounslow, started her career singing with her parents' Bridge Church youth band and in productions at the Davenant Foundation School in Loughton.

She was spotted by pop singer Kelle Bryan, from girl band Eternal, who signed her as a client and she soon made an appearance in Life Bites, a Disney Channel UK series. But she did not expect to get picked for the new movie.

"It was such a big project. When I did get it, my mum and I were jumping around. I didn't play it cool at all."
She plays Mohini Banjaree, the bass guitarist in the Lemonade Mouth band, who grapples with her parents' high expectations to be the perfect Indian teenager.

There seems little chance of her being anything but in real life.

Following the example of her British father and Indian mother, from Uganda, she regularly takes part in mission and outreach work in the community and has travelled several times to Slovakia to teach English in secondary schools.

"I'm really close to my family and we talk through things. My parents are so amazing, they're brilliant. We try to take one step at a time and be wise about the decisions we make and keep our values and the things that are important," she said.

Naomi Scott Bio

NAOMI SCOTT
"Mohini (Mo) Banjaree"

Naomi Scott stars as Mohini (Mo) Banjaree, the Lemonade Mouth bass guitarist who grapples with meeting her parents’ high expectations to be the perfect Indian teen, in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Lemonade Mouth."

Scott starred in Disney Channel UK's series "Life Bites" as Megan, the sweet best friend. "Lemonade Mouth" is her first Disney Channel Original Movie and her first project produced in the United States. She auditioned for the role via video conference from London. She also stars in the upcoming Steven Spielberg-produced television drama, "Terra Nova."

Scott began her career honing her singing skills with the Bridge Church Youth Band, and performed regularly in school musical and drama productions. Her big break came when she sang at a performance attended by British pop singer Kelle Bryan from the all-girl band Eternal, which quickly signed her as a client.

Scott has performed a solo jazz performance in London's prestigious Royal Festival Hall and has worked with top British songwriters and producers Xenomania.

A humanitarian at heart, Scott has regularly participated in mission and outreach work. She has traveled several times to Slovakia to teach English in secondary schools and perform with her youth band. In her free time she enjoys songwriting, singing, dancing and playing piano.

Naomi Scott: I won't go off the rails like other Disney actresses

Naomi Scott, currently working on Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi show Terra Nova, reveals the secrets of perfecting a US accent, finding her inner Disney cheese - and whether Lemonade Mouth is the new High School Musical.

Is Lemonade Mouth the new High School Musical?

Naturally people have compared the two. It’s flattering considering the success of High School Musical but this isn’t a musical, as such. It’s about a band, so the songs are performed rather than spontaneous. It’s maybe aimed at a slightly older audience.

How was your US accent?
Interesting. I’d never auditioned using a US accent before. Luckily they thought I was good enough and I just went for it. Hopefully I did all right. I didn’t have any training, I had to learn on the job. There was a sound guy who would say after a take: ‘That sounded British.’ That was as much as I got.

What did you struggle with?

I had to say: ‘I have to go to AP class.’ I kept saying: ‘I have to go to a plea class’, because I didn’t know what an AP class was. I asked at the time but I’ve forgotten. It’s a mystery. Sometimes my words got muddled but, on the whole, it wasn’t a problem.

As a British person, was it difficult to find your inner Disney cheese?

I understand what you’re saying. This is feel-good but it does have an edginess Disney hasn’t done before. It has a good story and the music isn’t cheesy – it stands alone.

What inspired you to want to become a performer?

I’d always put on little shows at home but when I was 11 I did a community event in Woodford, where anyone could go. You had three days of vocal training and performed your song at the end. I sang I Say A Little Prayer. It’s a tough song to sing but they gave me the confidence to go for it and belt it out. It was the first time I’d sung and they thought I wasn’t bad.

You’re doing a Steven Spielberg dinosaur show, Terra Nova. Are you a dinosaur expert now?

We interact with CGI dinosaurs and have animatronics as well – they look so real it’s scary. I should be an expert but I’m not. I’m improving. I know about the TED conference now. It’s this thing where scientists are making chickens into dinosaurs. It’s really interesting.

Have you worked with Steven Spielberg yet?

He’s one of the executives and we film in Australia. Sometimes we’ll be on set and we’ll be given props and the director says ‘that’s a Spielberg prop’ that he’s specified he wants in the shot. We’ll be like ‘oh wow’ and are thrilled to be holding an apple he’s asked for.

Is Kelle Bryan from Eternal still your manager?

She’s my agent. She’s a right sharp cookie. I was singing at an event when I was 14 when she approached me. She said: ‘I know you can act’ and ‘Disney will eat you up.’ And Disney UK was my first job. It’s weird to look back on moments like that. She’s had a lot of experience, so gives me advice on how to present myself or perform. She’s brilliant. None of my family are in the industry so it’s good to have someone like that.

Some Disney performers, such as Demi Lovato, have gone off the rails. Are you worried that will happen to you?

There are too many people around keeping me grounded to go off the rails. I’m my own person. You can’t generalise about people. I’m aware of the decisions I make and the responsibility I have as a role model. I wouldn’t disregard that. It’s a privilege. That’s not to say people don’t make mistakes – we’re all human. No one’s perfect. I’m just going to be myself.

Where do you see your career going?

Wherever I want it to go.

You’re pretty confident then?

At the moment I’m doing Terra Nova, which is amazing. I want to pursue music in the future but I’m taking it a step at a time and making sure I’m constantly growing.

Lemonade Mouth iDVD is out on September 26.

‘Lemonade Mouth’ stars groom own style rules

NEW YORK -- Hayley Kiyoko and Naomi Scott are the next generation of Disney Channel starlets, and these BFFs are getting a crash course in signing autographs, security guards and singing on live TV.
Makeup artists color their lips while others are doing their hair, and stylists have rolled racks into a Manhattan hotel from which they can choose their wardrobe.
They hit the media circuit last week before the TV movie "Lemonade Mouth," about kids forming a band, debuted Friday. But if this whole experience has been "just weird, just crazy" -- Scott's words -- dressing the part hasn't been.
Kiyoko, 20, seems poised to become a fashion force, gravitating toward funky styles, wearing a leather cowboy shirt and shorts with tights. She even pulls off the leather fanny pack that she feels fairly passionate about. ("I love the fanny pack because I hate bringing those Mary Poppins big bags everywhere," she says. "I can wear this and keep my stuff safe and I can always reach my phone and lip gloss.")
Her taste is "left of center," and while she enjoys very much the self-expression that comes with fashion, the shopping part is mediocre, she says. The maximum time limit at the mall for this Los Angeles-area native is 90 minutes.
Scott would rather be shopping for candy and other sweets, although she likes the occasional spin through a Zara or an AllSaints shop. "Fashion" isn't really her thing, she says, although she's quickly realizing that paying attention to her clothes, and her beauty and grooming routines are all part of her job.
Looking good exudes a confidence that she hopes her new tween fans will learn, she says, but she wants the emphasis to be on a good, healthy outlook, not on perfection.
Scott has the unfussy, effortless look that so many strive for. As a Londoner, the 17-year-old says she has well-developed preferences for darker colors and subtle shapes, but she doesn't mind something quirky, either. On this day, she's wearing a gray-print, tank-strap tunic top and chunky flat boots -- and an oversized pink alligator pendant.
She doesn't know the designer of the red-and-champagne-colored dress she has picked for the premiere. One of her most prized fashion possessions are an old pair of lace-up, Victorian-style boots that her aunt gave her.
Even though Kiyoko is more daring in her style choices, Scott says she likes that her friend always roots things in purpose rather than trend.
Back to the fanny pack: "What makes it cooler about Hayley wearing it is that she's choosing it because it's practical. She doesn't want to look like she's trying," Scott says.
Kiyoko is happy, however, to wear the label of "unexpected."
"People don't know me yet, so it's harder to do 'unexpected,' but that's what I want. I want to be a little edgy," Kiyoko says.
She recalls spending her first paycheck -- for an OnStar TV commercial when she was in the seventh grade -- on all-over gold sneakers by Gwen Stefani's LAMB brand. She fancies that as she grows her career, she'd like to do it all like Stefani: music, modeling and her own fashion brand.
"If there's one person I think she's going to be like, it's Gwen Stefani," cheers Scott. "She's got the whole package."

Instruments Used By Lemonade Mouth Part 1

Being a musician myself, I am always curious about the instruments used by bands, real or in a movie. I thought I would take a look and identify the guitars used by Mo, Stella and Olivia in Lemonade Mouth.

We will start with Naomi Scott's Mohini "Mo" Banjaree's bass guitar:

Mo's main bass is a Spector NS-2JA-R Bass Guitar, White Gloss finish.

Orignal Spector NS curved body shape. Czech made re-issue of first Spector bolt-on bass from 1983. Spector original deep inset neck pocket. dot fingerboard markers. Chrome hardware: Leo Quan bridge, Schaller tuners, Dunlop straplocks. EMG active J pickups, EMG BT tone controls. High gloss solid white finish. Maple body, 3pc maple neck. No more than 83 of each finish will be produced.

You can purchase one from Amazon.com for $2000 US
