Hayley Kiyoko Launches Pledge Campaign For Her New EP

HayleyKiyoko
@HayleyKiyoko

EP Release has launched!

Been working on this campaign for 2 months, and it is finally up!! check it out kiyokians!!

MY PLEDGE CAMPAIGN!!!

EP Release

Pre-order your copy of Hayley Kiyoko's new EP here + gain access to exclusive videos, mp3s, photos and more.

After many side projects, I am FINALLY releasing my first SOLO EP!
I have been anxiously awaiting this day and I couldn’t be more excited to start this journey with you! You all have been so supportive and I just want to give you a big group hug….

Now that I am finally working on my solo career, I want to continue to have creative control and most of all put out a product that I am most proud of.
The problem with doing it yourself?
You need to be a millionaire or have a millionaire invest in you.
Recording in a studio, paying for advertising, band members, and music videos take more dollar signs than I ever imagined….

So far, I have been lucky enough to have supportive friends doing me favors, but if I want to take it to the next level, I need your help. I need your pledge.
So, here is how pledge music all works,

Pick an item to the right that you want to PLEDGE for! I tried to put up things that you would love (I’m especially excited about the T-shirts we designed for you).
Then, tell all of your friends about this campaign, and even your relatives, neighbors, hair dresser, etc…we need to SPREAD THE WORD!
When you pledge, during the campaign, I will be posting EXCLUSIVE VIDEOS and updates for you including me in the studio, audio clips, sometimes even just a random hello! I want you to know I am working like a crazy person to get my music launched!
Once we have reached 100% of our goal, I will be using these funds for studio time, producers, band members for live shows, advertising, photo shoots, more studio time, more shows, and the list goes on and on.

HERE IS THE CATCH! If we don’t hit the 100% goal, all of you will get your money back, but unfortunately, that also means you won’t receive any of the awesome stuff that you pledged for. :(

So I am kindly asking you, Kiyokians …..To please help however you can. Even if you are unable to pledge, please send this campaign to all of your friends.

I love creating music and performing.
I love you all and I truly thank you for your support and help.
Kiyokians, thanks for always making me smile and I am so excited to do this, WITH YOU.

Hungry, restless, wicked, and wild.

Hayley :)

6 Things You Never Knew About ‘Lemonade Mouth’ Star Hayley Kiyoko!

originally posted here

BY Kirstin Benson8.30 PM EST 04.22.2011

HollywoodLife.com caught up with one of the most talented up-and-coming stars in Hollywood — Hayley Kiyoko — about filming ‘Lemonade Mouth,’ college and her secret talents!

If you’ve seen Disney Channel’s awesome new original movie, Lemonade Mouth, you’ve witnessed Hayley Kiyoko‘s talent first hand. The 20-year-old performer sings, plays instruments, dances and shows off some major acting chops in her role as the rebellious and creative Stella. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Hayley about her background in show biz (she’s been performing since she was a toddler), her favorite not-so-guilty TV pleasure, her musical idols and much more. Read on to learn six things you never knew about Hayley!

1. Before Hayley acted, she was a competitive dancer: ”I love dancing, but I don’t just want to be a back up dancer for the rest of my life. Acting has been a new passion that kind of just developed through the last few years.”

2. She would make a great action starlet: “I’ve done karate my whole life. I’d love to hold a rifle and walk in slow mo and kick people’s butts. I’m a black belt.”

3. She loves chill music: “Fiona Apple, Adele are my number one artists.”

4. She loves fashion: “I’ve always wanted to have my own fashion line and kind of like become a brand. I’m an official triple threat — it’s definitely not forced.”

5. Hayley is a huge Grey’s Anatomy fan: “I proudly watch Grey’s Anatomy, like every single week. Phone are turned off. If you speak, you are not my friend!”

6 She wants to go to college: “I was accepted to NYU right after I graduated, but then I deferred for a year. College is definitely at the top of my list.”

Lemonade Mouth's Hayley Kiyoko Talks Joining a Band, Touring with Justin Bieber

April 11th, 2011 12:14 PM by Gabrielle Compolongo

Orignially posted here

Disney Channel's Original Movie Lemonade Mouth is set to air for the first time this Friday, April 15 on Disney Channel.
The film follows a group of teens who meet in detention and end up forming a band in order to deal with the struggles of high school.
Hayley Kiyoko plays Stella Yamada, the group rebel, who wants to make friends as she's the new girl at school.  She is also an aspiring musician herself and has been on tour with Justin Bieber.
Check out our interview with the actress below!  Lemonade Mouth premieres this Friday, April 15 on Disney Channel.

Hayley Kiyoko Stars in Lemonade Mouth

Tell me about Lemonade Mouth.

Lemonade Mouth is about five teenagers who come from different walks of life and they band together to make a difference in the school. While doing so, they develop this wonderful friendship and they go along this awesome musical journey.

Tell me about your character.

I play Stella Yamada, and she is the rebel in the group. She’s very spontaneous, which definitely gets the group into trouble. [laughs] A lot of repercussions. She’s the new girl at school and she just wants to be heard because her family doesn’t really pay attention to her. She kind of uses the band as a machine to make a difference.

Can you relate to Stella?

Absolutely. Actually, when I was a junior in high school I started a band and I didn’t know any of the guys. We basically just starting playing and playing and we became best friends, it’s kind of like the story line, but we’re still best friends to this day. We became the band to go to in Agoura Hills. I was the front woman. I definitely am a leading in that same sense and I like to make things happen. She’s definitely a more intense version than I am.

What were you like in high school?

I was known as the girl who was friends with every group at the school. I never really had my own group; I was just friends with everyone. I was on the student council, I was on the dance team, I did musical theater, and I was in every single group. During lunch I would float around to each table. [laughs] Once I started my band, I started to find my best friends and my own group.

These students meet in detention. Have you ever gotten detention?

I was never in detention. I would never do anything to make myself be in detention. I was the kind of girl who got really upset if I was yelled at in class.

If you had gotten detention, what would it have been for?

Probably for something very ridiculous, like going to the bathroom too many times or having too many absences. I would never disobey unless it was something really important that I had to fight for like in the movie.

Did you read the novel before landing the role?

It was a quick process. I auditioned for the role and when I found out I got it I was on tour at the time with Justin Bieber and my mom sent me the book in the mail. I had two weeks to read it before we started shooting. The book is absolutely hilarious and witty. I recommend it to anyone.

Did you have Justin read it?

[laughs] No, he doesn’t have time for that.

What else do you have in the works?

I’m working on my solo music. I write alternative music. I’m just going with the flow, and I’m up for a few projects.

Cast of Disney's "Lemonade Mouth" starts flash mob at Apple store

It was another quiet afternoon at the Apple retail store at The Grove in Los Angeles, CA -- or as quiet as an Apple store can be on a busy day -- when all of a sudden, a flash mob began singing and dancing the song "Determinate" from the Disney Channel production Lemonade Mouth over Easter weekend.

Chris Brochu and Hayley Kiyoko, two of the film's stars, organized the surprise appearance with about 15 of their friends and captured their entire performance on video. The choreographed song and dance number drew a mix of befuddled and delighted looks from shoppers and ended when three unfortunate Apple employees were inclined to politely escort the mob out of the store.

This weekend's flash mob by the cast members of Lemonade Mouth is one of the latest in-store performances by Apple shoppers captured on video and published to the video-sharing website YouTube. With its chain of well-lighted retail locations filled with internet-connected Macs, Apple often draws aspiring and professional actors, singers and dancers to its stores. ifoAppleStore, the blog for all things Apple retail, offers a look at some of the many in-store videos shoppers have published over the last few years, including a mashup of iJustine clips, lip-syncing children, a performance by a teen singer known as "tr3vor" and more.

Lemonade Mouth is a musical film produced for the Disney Channel that follows five high school students who meet in detention and form a band to help them each overcome their shared and individual obstacles. The made-for-television movie premiered on April 15, 2011.

Hayley Kiyoko Interview!

Glitter Magazine | Aug 10, 2011

Hayley Kiyoko is the talented young star that dazzles crowds with both her acting and singing skills. Hayley proves a girl can do it all with big dreams and talent to match. You may remember Hayley as Velma Dinkley in Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins or on the hit shows Unfabulous and Wizards of Waverly Place. Hayley already has quite the acting experience and she is also part of the all girl group The Stunners. Watch for Hayley in her upcoming role in Lemonade Mouth, a Disney original movie. Meet the girl behind the acting and the music with Glitter Magazine’s exclusive interview!

When did you know you wanted to get into singing and acting?

HAYLEY: There was never a specific moment where I was like ‘I WANT TO SING AND ACT!’ lol… I’ve just always loved to perform. It’s been in my blood since day one.

How did you get your start in both?

HAYLEY: Well my parents bought my first drum set when I was 5 and that began my voyage into music. From there on I continued to play drums, then learned guitar and piano. I would write songs and record them on my 4-track cassette recorder in the garage. Gosh, that sounds like such an ‘old school’ gadget!!! Lol. I was in many school plays and musicals and did a lot of dance after school. In 7th grade I got a commercial agent and booked my first audition. But acting was always just something I did on the side to make money for college and music equipment. I never thought in a million years I would be starring in a movie a couple years later.

What is more fun for you, to sing or act?

HAYLEY: Honestly, I just love performing in general! When you are shooting a movie and/or performing on stage in an arena, the gratification is a completely different process. They are both challenging and
exhilarating in their own ways.

Your energy is amazing! How was it touring with Justin Bieber?

HAYLEY: Let’s just say I had A LOT of material to write in my journal, in a good way! It was one of the most amazing experiences, ever. The energy, the crowd, the crew, the ‘belieber’, so many great memories.

Can you tell us about your role in LEMONADE MOUTH?

HAYLEY: Of course!! I play the firecracker, Stella Yamada. She is the ring leader of the band and convinces everyone to stand up for themselves and others.

What can we expect from the movie?

HAYLEY: A very touching journey about friendship, triumph, and change. With a dope soundtrack!

Can you tell us more about your character?

HAYLEY: She is a vegetarian, makes her own t-shirts and is OBSESSED with lemonade, a.k.a. SISTA STELLA!!

What’s on your playlist right now?

HAYLEY: Marina and the Diamonds, Adele, The Civil Wars.

Who are some of your favorite designers and where do you like to shop?

HAYLEY: Hmmmmm, well Neiman Marcus holds the key to all of the awesome designers, Vince, Marc Jacobs … I personally love to shop at Diesel, LF, Zara, Free People and I also love vintage clothing.

Your hair is so cool! How do you get it to look so fab?

HAYLEY: Aww, thank you!!!!! Hair is so much fun because it always grows back, Lol! My hair wouldn’t be the same without my Sebastian taffy wax.

If you could have a shopping spree at any store which would it be?

HAYLEY: ZARA!

Any advice for Girls Who Rock who want to sing or be in a band?

HAYLEY: Make sure you get along with the people in your band and support each other. If you are all in a band, you all have a common goal, so don’t let little dramas or hiccups get in your way. And the most
important thing, COMMAND THAT STAGE!

Instruments Used By Lemonade Mouth Part 5

Instruments Used By Lemonade Mouth Part 3

Michael Kelly Hybrid Special Electric Guitar

Hayley Kiyoko as Lemonade Mouth's Lead Guitarist Stella Yamada, uses a Michael Kelly Hybrid (acoustic/electric) with the  Quilt Honey Burst finish in the  Livin' On A High Wire performance and is featured with it in publicity pictures.

From the manufacturer's website

The easiest and quickest way there is to go from sweet acoustic tones to screaming electric leads - and everything in between! If you've ever wished for screaming electric and sweet acoustic tones in one single guitar, this perfect blend is now possible with the new Michael Kelly Hybrid guitars. The Hybrids are the perfect stage and studio instruments because they instantly switch from full acoustic guitar tone to a ripping electric tone! Want more? The Hybrids can also BLEND both tones together for almost infinite tonal combinations a" creating endless variations of a two-axe wall of sound attack! Dual Amp Capability If you are performing live with a Hybrid Special or using one in the studio you will love their dual amp capabilities! When using the Y cable that is included, the Hybrid sends out a signal from the acoustic pickup to one amp and the electric signal to another. Of course nothing can reproduce an acoustic signal like a full range acoustic amp so this can really enhance your performance! You can also run directly into two channels on a mixing board for live or studio applications that will allow you to tailor the sound and maximise each tone. Don't have two amps or a mixing board? Don't worry. When you use a standard guitar cable on the Hybrid you get a single signal that you can plug into any amp. The amazing Hybrid gives you a vast array of tonal possibilities in a very simple to use format, while the Hybrid Special takes it all one step further with the addition of a second Rockfield SWC humbucker, coil tapping them and expanding the controls. Now there is a Michael Hybrid for any player!

You can find one at shopping.com for $600 US

‘Lemonade Mouth’ stars groom own style rules

NEW YORK -- Hayley Kiyoko and Naomi Scott are the next generation of Disney Channel starlets, and these BFFs are getting a crash course in signing autographs, security guards and singing on live TV.
Makeup artists color their lips while others are doing their hair, and stylists have rolled racks into a Manhattan hotel from which they can choose their wardrobe.
They hit the media circuit last week before the TV movie "Lemonade Mouth," about kids forming a band, debuted Friday. But if this whole experience has been "just weird, just crazy" -- Scott's words -- dressing the part hasn't been.
Kiyoko, 20, seems poised to become a fashion force, gravitating toward funky styles, wearing a leather cowboy shirt and shorts with tights. She even pulls off the leather fanny pack that she feels fairly passionate about. ("I love the fanny pack because I hate bringing those Mary Poppins big bags everywhere," she says. "I can wear this and keep my stuff safe and I can always reach my phone and lip gloss.")
Her taste is "left of center," and while she enjoys very much the self-expression that comes with fashion, the shopping part is mediocre, she says. The maximum time limit at the mall for this Los Angeles-area native is 90 minutes.
Scott would rather be shopping for candy and other sweets, although she likes the occasional spin through a Zara or an AllSaints shop. "Fashion" isn't really her thing, she says, although she's quickly realizing that paying attention to her clothes, and her beauty and grooming routines are all part of her job.
Looking good exudes a confidence that she hopes her new tween fans will learn, she says, but she wants the emphasis to be on a good, healthy outlook, not on perfection.
Scott has the unfussy, effortless look that so many strive for. As a Londoner, the 17-year-old says she has well-developed preferences for darker colors and subtle shapes, but she doesn't mind something quirky, either. On this day, she's wearing a gray-print, tank-strap tunic top and chunky flat boots -- and an oversized pink alligator pendant.
She doesn't know the designer of the red-and-champagne-colored dress she has picked for the premiere. One of her most prized fashion possessions are an old pair of lace-up, Victorian-style boots that her aunt gave her.
Even though Kiyoko is more daring in her style choices, Scott says she likes that her friend always roots things in purpose rather than trend.
Back to the fanny pack: "What makes it cooler about Hayley wearing it is that she's choosing it because it's practical. She doesn't want to look like she's trying," Scott says.
Kiyoko is happy, however, to wear the label of "unexpected."
"People don't know me yet, so it's harder to do 'unexpected,' but that's what I want. I want to be a little edgy," Kiyoko says.
She recalls spending her first paycheck -- for an OnStar TV commercial when she was in the seventh grade -- on all-over gold sneakers by Gwen Stefani's LAMB brand. She fancies that as she grows her career, she'd like to do it all like Stefani: music, modeling and her own fashion brand.
"If there's one person I think she's going to be like, it's Gwen Stefani," cheers Scott. "She's got the whole package."
