Tisha Campbell-Martin stars as Miss Reznick, a music teacher who encourages five students in detention to pursue their passion for music in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Lemonade Mouth."
Campbell-Martin's career spans acting, directing, producing and writing. She is best known for her role opposite Damon Wayans on the ABC hit series "My Wife and Kids," which continues to run in syndication and earned her an NAACP Image Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. She also directed an episode of the series. Other television credits include "Martin," "Rita Rocks," "Everybody Hates Chris," "Getting Personal," "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," "A Different World," "Blossom," "Roc," "Links," "The Sweetest Gift" and "All of Us."
At the age of 16 Campbell-Martin made her film debut in the cult classic "Little Shop of Horrors," opposite Rick Moranis and Steve Martin. She also starred in "School Daze," "House Party" (I, II, III), "Another 48 Hrs.," "Homeward Bound," Boomerang" and "Sprung." On stage she starred in the Debbie Allen/James Ingram production of "Bayou Legend."
Campbell-Martin co-wrote the movie "The Seat Filler" with husband, actor Duane Martin ("All of Us"), and produced the film short "A Luv Tale," which garnered numerous awards, including the Audience Choice Award at the Black Hollywood Film Festival.
Raised in Newark, New Jersey, Campbell-Martin is the daughter of two singers who nurtured her love for music. She entered her first talent contest at the age of five and won first prize -- a car!
An avid philanthropist, Campbell-Martin is currently developing a project to benefit her alma-mater, Newark Arts High School, which will help provide desperately needed supplies to the inner-city school and keep its music program intact.
Currently, she is working on the upcoming "Paul Reiser Show," and she is the national spokeswoman for Yoplait yogurt, encouraging healthy active lifestyles for African-American women.
Campbell-Martin resides in Los Angeles with her husband and their two sons.
