Naomi Scott Bio
NAOMI SCOTT
"Mohini (Mo) Banjaree"
Naomi Scott stars as Mohini (Mo) Banjaree, the Lemonade Mouth bass guitarist who grapples with meeting her parents’ high expectations to be the perfect Indian teen, in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Lemonade Mouth."
Scott starred in Disney Channel UK's series "Life Bites" as Megan, the sweet best friend. "Lemonade Mouth" is her first Disney Channel Original Movie and her first project produced in the United States. She auditioned for the role via video conference from London. She also stars in the upcoming Steven Spielberg-produced television drama, "Terra Nova."
Scott began her career honing her singing skills with the Bridge Church Youth Band, and performed regularly in school musical and drama productions. Her big break came when she sang at a performance attended by British pop singer Kelle Bryan from the all-girl band Eternal, which quickly signed her as a client.
Scott has performed a solo jazz performance in London's prestigious Royal Festival Hall and has worked with top British songwriters and producers Xenomania.
A humanitarian at heart, Scott has regularly participated in mission and outreach work. She has traveled several times to Slovakia to teach English in secondary schools and perform with her youth band. In her free time she enjoys songwriting, singing, dancing and playing piano.
Scott comes from a multi-cultural background with an Indian mother from Uganda and a British father. She was born May 6, 1993 in London, where she currently resides with her parents and older brother.
